Architecture

Old towns in Krems and Stein

Krems and Stein are one of the oldest cities in Austria, which is why at every step there are historic, medieval buildings, and the whole town is on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List. Walking along quiet and narrow streets you can feel as if time has stopped a few centuries ago.

Göttweig Abbey

Just a few minutes drive by car on south of Krems on a beautiful hill there is a huge Benedictine complex that can be seen from many kilometers. It includes a walled courtyard, gardens, a main abbey and a monastery, all of which is dated for over 1000 years. Being in Krems you will certainly see this massive wall, and curiosity will not let you remain indifferent to the opportunity to see what is hidden behind it.
